AAFM 2022 Fall Conference

The 2022 AAFM Conference will be held again this year at The Perdido Beach Resort. Situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico in Orange Beach, Alabama, Perdido Beach Resort is exclusively located near Alabama Point, locally known as “The Pass,” where the Intracoastal Waterway meets the deep waters of the Gulf, and boaters take a voyage for their afternoon venture. Join us in this wonderful setting for an opportunity to learn from and network with other floodplain managers from around the state and region. To accommodate those of you unable to attend in person, we will be making provisions to host the technical sessions virtually. Additional login and access information will be sent out to those who register for the virtual option.

General Conference Information and Schedule

Please join us on the beautiful Gulf coast as we embark on yet another Alabama Association of Floodplain Managers Fall Conference. We are planning for another hybrid conference consisting of both in-person & virtual training sessions for those unable or not ready to travel. To accommodate those of you unable to attend in person, we will be making provisions to host the technical sessions virtually. Additional login and access information will be sent out to those who register for the virtual option. For those who choose to learn remotely, we will have live events each day. A draft agenda will be available soon with more information about the program.

For those that will be joining us in-person, the Perdido Beach Resort has very spacious and comfortable meeting space for us to utilize. The Resort is an AHLA "Safe Stay" Hotel and has implemented all of the safety protocols using the framework developed by the AHLA.

The Conference Team is currently putting together a line-up of speakers from industry, academia, government, and more will be on hand.  Additional information on the events and agenda will be coming soon.  We anticipate offering 12 credits for CEUs for engineers/CFMs again this year but will have the final credits once ASFPM reviews our final agenda. The class will be offered on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00-5:00 PM and the exam offered on Wednesday morning onsite at 9:00 AM (check-in by 8:45). This year and for all future offerings of the CFM Exam will be in a digital format using onsite computers at the conference. Be sure to register by September 19 with ASFPM if you plan to take the exam as required by Scantron who administers the digital exams for ASFPM.
